Vigilance is everything! Although the right to massage animals has been restored to licensed massage therapists, and, by extension, consumer choice to Maryland animal owners, we must remain ever watchful that the possibility exists that an arrogant regulatory board will abuse its power.

  • Marylanders -- contact your representatives and voice your opinion about this case, about the Chiropractic Board and about the Veterinary Board. You can find out who your representatives are & how to contact them by going to http://mdelect.net (if you do not live in Maryland, but your horse does, use the zipcode of your horse's barn). Tell them you want unrestricted access to heath care practitioners for your animals. Your animals are YOUR property! YOU should be making the health care decisions, NOT the veterinary cartel and not a chiropractic board that has nothing to do with animals!
  • Write to your local newspapers & magazines and let them know how you feel about the Maryland Chiropractic & Veterinary Boards restricting your access to the non-veterinary complementary & alternative health care practitioners of YOUR choice! Tell them that you want unrestricted access to massage therapists, chiropractors, physical therapists, etc. for your animals and that you want the professional licensing boards to STOP supporting the monopolization of animal health care in Maryland.
  • Write to the Maryland State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners and let them know how you feel as an animal owner about them restricting your access to the non-veterinary complementary & alternative health care practitioners of YOUR choice!
